Featured Showcase for Elementor.
One flexible Elementor widget for presenting services, projects and portfolio pieces.
- Version
- v1.0.9
- Platform
- WordPress + Elementor
Featured Showcase adds a single, flexible Elementor widget for presenting featured items in one of three layouts, chosen from a dropdown: Grid, Carousel or Coverflow.
It is built for the free Elementor plugin. Carousel and Coverflow reuse the Swiper library Elementor already bundles, so nothing extra is loaded, and the widget does not send data to external services on its own.
- Built with
- Elementor (free)
- Swiper (bundled with Elementor)
- Requirements
- WordPress 5.9 or newer
- PHP 7.4 or newer
- Elementor 3.5.0 or newer (Pro not required)
- Tested up to WordPress 7.0
What it does.
Three layouts
A responsive grid, a Swiper carousel with arrows, dots and autoplay, or a 3D coverflow.
Image or video backgrounds
A self-hosted MP4, or a YouTube / Vimeo URL used as a muted, looping background.
Hover reveal
A dark overlay fades in and the heading, description and button appear; shown automatically on touch devices.
Full styling
Overlay colour and opacity, content panel, typography and button, placed below or beside the text.
Cache-proof
Styles and scripts load reliably for logged-out visitors, even with caching and JS-deferring plugins.
No Elementor Pro needed
Works with the free Elementor plugin.
A closer look.
Release history.
- Overlay, panel and text / button colours print inline, so they stay correct when a cache plugin serves stale Elementor CSS.
- Hover-revealed content shows automatically on touch devices.
- Assets now load reliably for logged-out visitors when Elementor’s optimised asset loading skipped them.
- Carousel / coverflow initialise regardless of script load order (caching plugins that defer or combine JS).
- Text domain matched to the plugin slug; updated “Tested up to”.
- Licence headers, a LICENSE file and a full readme with third-party service disclosure.
- Button Position control: below the text, or beside it and vertically centred.
- Fixed Carousel and Coverflow initialisation; overlay colour / opacity and panel background controls.
- Initial release: Grid, Carousel and Coverflow layouts, image / video backgrounds and hover-revealed content.
